An interview with Brak, co-star/star of "Cartoon Planet" and all around talented, uh, guy
I think you've become as popular as Space Ghost. Any chance of getting your own show?
Brak: You know people keep asking me that and I keep saying, 'I don't know. What do I know?'
You could do a variety show.
Brak: Yes... I would bring out, um, Lola Falana who would come out and sing. 'Ladies and gentlemen, Miss Florence Henderson!' Come out and sing 'Silent Night.' Yes... like she did in the episode of the Brady Bunch...
I didn't see that one.
Brak: Well, it's your loss then!
Do you write your own songs?
Brak: I make up my own songs, yes. (sings...) 'Hello, I'm Brak. I've got a big head... my shoulders...' I don't know.
You know there's a Space Ghost drinking game on the Web...
Brak: I'd endorse an eating game. If I say certain things then you'd take a little nibble. If I say something smart then you'd have to cram the whole thing in your mouth. If you've got a big hot dog, wrap it in bologna and say 'four score and seven years ago' and then you'd have a mouthful of cold cuts. I'm serious. Turn it into an eating game, that would be fun. You'd get really sick but you would be full and satisfied.
I saw TV Guide did an interview with you...
Brak: Yes, TV Guide talked to me and that was funny 'cause I've been reading that TV Guide forever. And then all of a sudden they want to talk to me and I said, 'Ok, well, sure. You want to care about me, that's fine. I'll tell you what I like.' And that's what I told them. Well, they wanted me to sing a bunch of theme songs from TV shows and I sang about, um, I don't know 13 of 'em and they only used one. It wasn't the best one. I did 'The Waltons.'
Sing that one for me....
Brak: (sings) 'Who could turn the world on with a smile...'
How's life in general?
Brak: I'm lonely. Me and my dog Ernie. We just sit around and watch TV.
What are your favorite TV shows?
Brak: I like to watch my show. I watch... I don't know what I watch. I love 'Mama's Family!' Oh boy! Oh boy! Boy! I like watching 'Mash.' Oh yeah, buddy. I empathize with the man that is Frank Burns. I know what he's going through. I know what you're going through buddy! He's going through hard times. People don't understand him.
