icon_sydlickies.jpgThese are photos of my dog, Sydney. He recently turned 10 years old - born August 16, 1997 in Decatur, GA. Sydney has lived in many places around the country including Georgia, California and Florida. He seems most comfortable in Georgia, though.

He is a mixed breed - his mom was a Shepherd/Keshond but we never knew the puppy daddy. The litter consisted of 5 pups - 3 black labs, 1 white lab and Sydney. He was the runt of the litter and the furriest. He looked like a little teddy bear. I had to have him! We think the puppy daddy might have been chow. Hard to tell.

Now, at 10, he has a touch of arthritis in his back legs and has a bit of trouble going up and down the stairs and walking great distances. But he's still bright and affectionate (with me, at any rate). He doesn't care for other dogs too much but he will siddle up to cats, if he trusts them. He's shy around people he doesn't know and he makes a great watch dog. He could care less for squirrels - we have one that likes to taunt him and Sydney just ignores him. Sydney also has his own Dogster page.
